About US

Tempabend Ltd. started in 1997 and was the first company in Australasia to produce toughened bent / curved glass for architectural and marine use.

The sag forming process used enables us also to produce irregular, conical, twisted and compound shapes.

We also can manufacture thick flat toughened glass and can, because of our process, avoid the roller marking that can become very noticeable for thick glass.

Quality and Experience

With more than 20 years experience in bending glass you can be assured of good advice and support for your project.

Tempabend is also certified for manufacture to AS/NZS 2208, AS/NZS 2080 and ISO614 and is a member of the Glass Association New Zealand (GANZ).

Tempabend Process

The tempering / toughening process involves heating the glass to near softening point and then rapidly cooling it to introduce high compressive stresses at the surface with balancing tensile stresses in the centre, which transforms the glass into a strong product that in the event of breakage breaks into small pieces.

The shaping of the glass occurs at the heating stage using Tempabend's unique mold technology.

Laminated, double glazed or heat strengthened bends are also available should end use require.
